LAWRENCE, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — The City of Lawrence is preparing for its first snowstorm since the massive gas explosions and fires rocked the Merrimack Valley
Officials in Lawrence say they’re ready to face the season’s first winter storm, despite ongoing gas restoration efforts.
Lawrence DPW director Carlos Jaquez says the plows are ready, the salt shed is full, and most of the metal plates on the roads in South Lawrence are gone.
Columbia Gas used those plates to cover the roads during the gas pipeline replacement work.
As for the trailer park on south common, he says plans are in place to ensure the residents there can get to work and school safely Friday.
