PEPPERELL, Mass (WBZ-AM) — Firefighters are battling a large 2-alarm fire on North Street in Pepperell.
The fire started shortly after 12:00 p.m. Friday at 44 North Street — where R.H. Wilson, an auto salvage yard, is located.
Joshua Powers, an eyewitness, tells WBZ NewsRadio1030 that multiple crews from surrounding communities are on scene and that residents are being pushed back 1/4 mile down the road because the fire and smoke is growing.
Because there are no hydrants in that area all the water is being brought in. One mile of hose has been laid in order to bring in the water.
