Man Dragged By Car Dies; Robbery Suspects Charged With Murder

BOSTON, Mass (WBZ-AM) — A Dorchester teen who was dragged from a car during an attempted robbery has died.

Authorities from Suffolk District Attorney Office and Massachusetts State Police say that Kemoni Miller, 18 died at Boston Medical Center on Wednesday after suffering serious injuries on November 17.

Dejon Barnes, 18, and 23-year-old Kenneth Ford have who were initially charged with unarmed robbery for dragging Miller on Gallivan Boulevard now face murder charges. 

They say that Miller was trying to to sell them an Apple iPhone for $600 when a dispute and the attempted robbery happened. 

Suffolk District Attorney Office say that Miller was dragged about half a mile and suffered a life-threatening head injury when he fell from the car. He was transported to Boston Medical Center but never regained consciousness.

They are expected to return to court on December 4.
