SALEM, N.H. (WBZ-AM) — Black Friday shoppers lined up early on the Salem, N.H. retail strip in below 20 degree weather.

Shoppers waited for hours in blankets, down coats, hoodies, and layers of pants for cheap televisions and gaming systems. Some individuals waited for 24 hours.

One person waiting in line traveled from Boston to Salem, N.H., and saved the place of the man behind her so that he could warm up, avoiding frostbite.

“She let me go to my car a few times because I’m not really dressed for this,” the man said. “She has prevented me from dying here today.”
