Tyngsborough Police Officer Injured, Cruiser Hit During Traffic Stop

TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ-AM) — A Tyngsborough Police officer was injured after his police cruiser was struck by another car during a traffic stop.

 Officer Daniel Campbell was injured after a vehicle, pulled over for speeding, suddenly reversed and hit the officer's cruiser. Campbell confronted the suspects at gunpoint after exiting the cruiser.

The driver was Camilo Cruz, 27, of Newton, was arrested and charged. There were two other passengers in the car. One of the passengers, Jose Reyes, 49, was arrested and held on warrants for larceny and drug possession.

Campbell was released from a local hospital Saturday.
