Police Officers Hold No Shave November Event At Fenway

BOSTON, Mass (WBZ-AM)  — MBTA Police Officer and Army Veteran Kurt Power started the No Shave November among Police Officers across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts four years ago to raise awareness of Mental Health for veterans.

Since then it has grown every year.  This year, 115 Police Departments raised more than $200,000 dollars.

“People say hey what's going on where you guys grow beards and we say you know it's to raise awareness to veterans suicide and to tell them not only how to get help but then to raise the funds to actually pay for that treatment

All the money goes to Home Base, they provide free mental health care for veterans and their families
