Patriots QB Tom Brady Should Return To Form Soon

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Tom Brady's been, in a word mediocre the Patriots' last four games.

The QB's completed just 60 percent of his passes for three touchdowns and an average of 290 yards. To his credit, no interceptions. But, Brady's weapons have been inconsistently available.

Pats will host the Vikings Sunday, though, and Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, James White, Sony Michel, Josh Gordon, and even Rex Burkhead should be there.

The Boston Globe's Ben Volin said we should be seeing the old Brady again soon.

"His performance gets a lot better when they have good weapons around him and more balance," Volin said. "Having the running game--there was that stretch in the middle of the season where Michel was hurt, and Burkhead's on IR, and you've got Cordarrelle Patterson as a running back. They didn't have a credible running game, and that affects the play action game. It makes it difficult to throw the ball in the passing game in general. I think you saw the results of that Sunday. The offensive line was finally healthy, Sony Michel was hitting the hole hard, James White as well. They had four runs over 24 yards--you never see that out of the Patriots running game. I don't think Brady's hit a cliff by any stretch--that game against the Titans was obviously bad, and he was clearly uncomfortable that game--but I think you see him a lot more comfortable now that all his weapons are back, and the team's operating on all cylinders here."

Kickoff, 4:25.
