BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (WBZ-AM) — President Donald Trump postponed a planned news conference at the G20 summit in Argentina following the death of late President George H.W. Bush.
“I was very much looking forward to having a press conference just prior to leaving Argentina because we have had such great success in our dealing with various countries and their leaders at the G20,” Trump wrote in a tweet Saturday. “However, out of respect for the Bush Family and former President George H.W. Bush we will wait until after the funeral to have a press conference.”
Trump also cancelled a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin after Russia’s seizure of three Ukrainian ships, according to the Associated Press. Trump and Putin are both in attendance at the G20 summit.
Trump is scheduled to meet Saturday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
