WATCH: Crowd Bands Together To Raise Toppled Cambridge Menorah

CAMBRIDGE (AP) -- Police in Massachusetts are investigating a toppled menorah as a possible hate crime.

Cambridge police say two witnesses saw a man ride his bike up to the menorah on the Cambridge Commons on Sunday afternoon and push it over on Sunday. A group of people at the scene immediately banded together and put the menorah back upright, as seen in this video posted to Twitter:

Cambridge Mayor Marc McGovern said in a statement that the toppling does not represent the city or its people.

On Thursday at 5 p.m., Harvard Chabad will hold a menorah lighting. On Twitter, the community organization thanked those who "helped restore the light of the @CambMA Common #menorah with love, vandalized by darkness and hate."
