NightSide with Dan Rea – Rundown for December 5, 2018

“Non-Citizens” on Welfare?  After analyzing the Census Bureau’s Survey of Income and Program Participation, a study by the Center for Immigration Studies found that 63% of non-citizen households in 2014 accessed welfare programs.  Dan will be joined by Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies to discuss the study and take your calls!

Anti-Animal Language?  Tuesday, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released solutions to “anti-animal language” on their social medias.  In the post, they said “Words matter, and as our understanding of social justice evolves, our language evolves with it. Just as it would be unacceptable to use racist, homophobic, or ableist language, phrases that trivialize cruelty to animals will vanish as more people begin to appreciate animals for who they are and start "bringing home the bagels" instead of the bacon.”  Dan will be joined by Matt Bruce from PETA to discuss anti-animal language.  Call the show tonight and join the conversation!

Holiday Entertainment!  Dan will be joined by Bill Hanney to discuss holiday entertainment in the area!

Call 617-254-1030 to join the conversation.
