BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- West Newbury native John Cena is a big Patriots fan, and also a huge supporter of a similarly-built tight end, Rob Gronkowski.
Cena's transitioned from a WWE career to Hollywood stardom, but he told ESPN's Cari Champion he could see Gronkowski making a transition of his own after football.
"He could be a great WWE superstar," Cena said. "I think he's got this unbelievable energy and infectious electricity about him."
"I can see that being the next easy transition, it seems like it would be so natural," Champion said. "I almost feel as if he's a wrestler now, we just get him a little more tame."
"I think he kind of is," Cena said. "If he wants to take off the pads and step into the arena, he'll fit right at home!"
It seems possible. Gronk's openly considered retirement in the last year, has close friends in the professional wrestling world, and has even made some guest appearances in the past.
