Boston Celebrates Kwanzza's Seven Core Values And Ancestral Roots

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) —  It is time to mark Kwanzaa, the celebration of African-American and Pan-African values created after the devastating Watt Riots in Los Angeles in 1965 to bring people together. 

The holiday starts on December 26 and lasts for seven days. It celebrates seven core values each day including Unity, work and responsibility, and creativity.

A celebration was held on the 2nd floor of the Urban League in Roxbury Thursday to celebrate with music and chants and to mark the event by honoring those who have gone before.
