WAKEFIELD, MA (WBZ-AM) — In Wakefield, demolition crews have begun the slow process of clearing a mountain of debris which was the First Baptist Church of Wakefield, destroyed by fire a couple months ago.
The demolition is a slow process because the church has asked crews to find something meaningful to them -- an old bell.
It was found among a mountain of debris. Demolition worker David George talks about how he found the church's bell.
