BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The jackpot for Mega Millions that will be drawn on New Year's Day has risen to an estimated $425 million, with a cash option estimated at $254.6 million.
The jackpot was last hit October 23 in South Carolina. The $1.537 billion jackpot was the largest in Mega Millions history. This is the 20th drawing since then.
Tickets, which cost $2, can be purchased until 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Powerball will be drawn Wednesday night, with an estimated jackpot of $53 million.
