Sneaker Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In

TYNGSBOROUGH, MA  (WBZ-AM)--A 19-year-old man wanted in connection with a home invasion and assault in Tyngsboro has turned himself into the authorities.  Dequan Hagen is now in police custody after allegedly stabbing a man when a sneaker sale went bad.

Officials say Hagen went to the victim’s home on Frost Road in Tyngsborough to buy a pair of sneakers Thursday night. "Then" says Richard Howe, "Something went wrong." Police believe Hagen fought with the 17-year-old seller inside the house and tried to run without paying for the shoes.  After leaving the house, Hagen is seen in surveillance video retrieving something from his car then going back inside where it is alleged he stabbed the teen in the stomach.

Hagen now faces multiple charges including armed robbery, home invasion, assault and battery with a  dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, and malicious destruction of property.

The victim was hospitalized and is reported as stable.
