BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- I don't know if you're an Alabama fan but, if you're a Patriots fan, you should be THRILLED the Crimson Tide lost last night's college football national championship.
See - despite all the winning those two teams have done the last couple decades--the Pats with five Super Bowl championships since the 2001 season and the Tide with five national titles since '09--they've NEVER won in the same year.
Bill Belichick's Patriots won in '01, '03, and '04 before Nick Saban arrived in Alabama, then Belichick's protegee led his program to banners in '09, '11, and '12.
Then the Pats and Tide alternated championships from 2014 thru 2017.
For that pattern to continue here in the 2018 season ... your turn, Bill.
The Patriots will host the Chargers in the divisional round of the playoffs Sunday.
