NightSide with Dan Rea – Rundown for January 9, 2019

Jordan Rich is in for Dan

Fixing the MBTA. As the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority prepare for maintenance spending in the coming years, transit passengers could be in store for service problems. With a five-year, $8 billion spending plan that the Baker administration previously charted, the agency is on track to meet its $1 billion spending goal for the year and will hopefully meet a goal to fully repair the transit system’s infrastructure by 2032. Jordan discusses how to fix the MBTA and wants your suggestions. What improvements do you want to see with the MBTA? Will maintenance be an issue for you? Listen tonight and call the show!

You Know They’re Not from Boston. Facebook has moved to a new home in Kendall Square and it was shown today that they have conference rooms named after lyrics from Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” a song believed to be beloved by all Bostonians outside the area. Jordan wants to know other giveaways that people are not from the Boston area and how you can tell that someone is from Massachusetts. Call the show and join the discussion!
