BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Amid the government shutdown, Congressman Seth Moulton spoke to WBZ NewsRadio about the strain on American workers. "The President is holding the country hostage, and a lot of American families are not gonna get a paycheck on Friday if this shutdown continues," Moulton explained.
"He owns it. He's said that from the very beginning - that this is his shutdown. All to push his wall which is something, of course, he promised Mexico would pay for... He's doing this for his wall to uphold a campaign promise, and it's not actually going to do anything to improve our immigration problems."
The representative from Massachusetts' 6th went on to criticize President Trump's self-anointed negotiating skills.
"The bottom line is that the President of the United States, the man who calls himself the 'Great Negotiator', should be bringing the country together, should be doing the right thing for our national security, our immigration challenges, and for reopening the government."
