MILFORD (WBZ-AM) — A number of people have been hospitalized after a Hazmat situation at a company in Milford.
The spill happened at PEI, which is a metal etching company, at the intersection of Fortune Boulevard and Route 16. It appears that a forklift may have punctured a barrel of hydrofluoric acid.
At least three people were transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The company is across the street from a plaza that contains a day care center. It's clear, however, that the Hazmat situation has been contained to the large company building.
