Top State Rep Accused Of Misconduct During Orientation

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) — A member of house speaker Robert DeLeo's leadership team is under fire after allegations he walked up behind an incoming legislator and grabbed her backside during an orientation cocktail hour last month according to a new report in The Boston Globe.

Those allegations are against representative Paul McMurtry a democrat from Dedham and at the time, Chairman of the House Personnel Committee.

According to the report, several officials witnessed the incident.

Deleo's office has acknowledged that the speaker has received secondhand reports from some lawmakers of "inappropriate conduct" from that December orientation, but those lawmakers declined to say who was involved.
