BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — Countless football fans across the country believe Tom Brady's a cheater—can't stand him—but long-time rival turned Patriots teammate James Harrison got an up-close appreciation of the future Hall of Famer during last year's stint in New England.
He told FS1's "Undisputed" Brady always leads by example.
"Crazy blizzard, cats are like, 'Man, we really gotta go outside?' and Tom goes, 'Hey, stop complaining, let's go.' He takes off out there with just the little sleeves and all that," Harrison said. "I'm not gonna lie, that cold there helped in the championship game. It was like, hot, I was sweating on the sideline because it was only -2 instead of -15, -20!"
And, that Brady treats everyone the same.
"He's the ultimate teammate," Harrison said. "And you know how you watch like, 'yeah, he's just putting on a show'—and I'm like, dude, the practice squad, he's treating like he's been there 10, 12, 15 years."
Bottom line, you can't always judge a book by its cover.
"I told him in the locker room, he's getting tape, I was finally like, 'You know, I wanted to hate you when I got here,'" Harrison said. "He just started laughing. You can't!"
