Teens Under 18 Want Right To Vote In Local Elections

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) — Some Massachusetts teenagers joined a few lawmakers at the State House to express support for a measure that would allow them to vote.

81-year-old State Senator Harriette Chandler is one of the Prime sponsors of a bill that would allow 16 and 17-year-olds in Massachusetts to vote in Municipal elections if a city or town gives them the green light to do that.

A couple dozen teenagers were at the State House Thursday told WBZ NewsRadio's Carl Stevens that they are going to spend their day lobbying, talking to their senators and representative about this measure.
