BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — Obviously the 35,000 Patriots supporters on hand at Gillette Stadium for the team's sendoff rally yesterday are pulling for New England in the Super Bowl Sunday but, you know what? It's not just the fans of the local team with a personal interest in the Pats defeating the Rams.
Chargers running back Melvin Gordon—that's right, same guy whose club was eliminated in Foxborough a couple weeks ago—didn't hide his feelings about this match-up while chatting with Sirius XM NFL Radio at the Pro Bowl.
"Patriots, all day, I'm going with the Patriots," Gordon said. "I don't want the Rams to win—I live in LA, y'all don't! I live in LA, I gotta hear that all day. You know how many Rams signs I see?"
Gordon doesn't want to be on the Los Angeles team that didn't win! That's no fun, right Melvin?
"I need them to lose," he said. "I don't care where y'all put me on TV saying this, I need 'em to lose. I love the guys over there, I'm cool with Todd, I'm cool with all them boys, but man, I need them boys to lose!"
Right there with ya, Melvin. The Pats are two-and-a-half-point favorites to defeat the Rams.
