BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Celtics reserve guard Jabari Bird faced a judge in Brighton Municipal Court Wednesday on new charges stemming from an alleged attack on his girlfriend last year.
Bird's added charges include witness intimidation and threats to commit a crime, stemming from his domestic violence arrest on September 7.
He is accused of choking his girlfriend more than a dozen times, kidnap, and assault and battery.
Bird was released on the same $50,000 bail posted last September. He's due back in court February 13, but both the prosecution and defense said they were hoping to resolve the matter soon.
