BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring for 2019 on Groundhog Day Saturday.
WBZ NewsRadio’s Bill Marcus spoke with an expert from Tufts University, Chris Whittier, on his five facts about groundhogs.
First, the name groundhog is just a misnomer.
"They're actually just large squirrels," Whittier said. "They don't get nearly as much credit as they deserve for the very interesting animals that they are."
