CONCORD, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities in New Hampshire believe the remains of a fetus or baby have been located at a wastewater treatment plant in Conway.
Through a news release sent to WBZ NewsRadio on Tuesday Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said that police in Conway were notified of the discovery of "fully intact human remains" at the Conway Wastewater Treatment Plant.
MacDonald said authorities are in the process of trying to determine how the remains came to be at the plant, "although transportation through the sewer system appears to be the most likely explanation."
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
He said that that officials investigating this case are working to find the mother "to ensure her safety and determine the circumstances that led to the discovery of the remains."
