ASHLAND, MA (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Holliston Uber driver is charged with indecent assault in Ashland after allegedly offering a female customer money in exchange for sex.

37-year-old Jose H. Arevalos-Avalos was arrested after a woman passenger told police she was propositioned for sex and was physically assaulted by him when he tried to touch her between her legs.

The unidentified victim says she had ordered an Uber to get to work on Friday and was met by Arevalos-Avalos who was driving a gray Toyota Corolla and was identified by the app as "Jose.". She claims that during the ride, he offered her $100 for sex and when she refused he began sexually assaulting her. He then gave her his phone number when she got out of the car and asked her to call him.

She was able to provided the Authorities with the driver’s license plate which enabled Ashland police to track down the suspect at his Holliston home.

Arevalos-Avalos was arrested on Friday at his apartment and is in police custody waiting to be arraigned Monday in Framingham District Court on a felony charge of indecent assault and battery on a person age 14 or over and one count of attempting to pay for sexual conduct.

Police say Uber is cooperating with the investigation.
