MARSHFIELD, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Officials say they have called off a search for a person who may have fallen into a pond in Marshfield.
Divers searched a small pond off Main St in Marshfield Thursday afternoon.
Police say that around 11:30 a.m. someone driving by the pond say they saw a man or an older child skating with a hockey stick. As they were driving by they saw that person fall on the ice.
They quickly turned around and drove back but could not find the skater only finding a small hole in the ice where that person was skating.
After crews spent hours searching that body of water, which is approximately 3 to 5 feet deep, they suspended the search finding nothing saying that they are confident that there is no one in the pond.
