Possible Fentanyl Exposure Sends Three Needham Police Officers To Hospital

NEEDHAM, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hazmat teams were called in and three Needham police officers were taken to the hospital after coming across a suspicious vehicle outside a Residence Inn.

Police say the officers were exposed to a substance believed to the fentanyl. The officers were transported to Beth Israel Deaconess for observation and were listed in good condition.

Needham Police say the HAZMAT response was limited to the vhicle and that hotel operations were not impacted.

A 31-year-old Norwood man and a 28-year-old Westwood woman were arrested.

An investigation is ongoing.
