Gym Employee And Off-Duty Nurse Help Save Man's Life

WILMINGTON, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — An off-duty nurse and gym employee are being credited by police for saving a man’s life after he collapsed at a gym in Wilmington on Thursday.

First responders were called to the planet fitness on Middlesex ave where they found the off-duty nurse performing CPR on an unresponsive 60 year old man.

Within minutes of using the external defibrillator, the man was breathing on his own again and regained consciousness.

Police are commending the gym's staff and the nurse for their quick actions --- which they say "undoubtedly contributed to saving the man's life."
