Arrest Made in Everett Stabbing

EVERETT, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Everett in March that injured a 28-year-old man.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan confirms that Victor Mariscal, 27, of Everett, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Cambridge.

Mariscal is charged with stabbing a man on March 16th on Bradford Terrace.

Ryan thanked the public and the media for their assistance in helping investigators locate Mariscal.

"Ultimately a member of the public was able to identify the alleged suspect as a result of the sketch and through the diligent work of investigators assigned to my office, State Police and Everett Police, we were able to place him into custody today,” she said in a news release.

Mariscal will be arraigned Friday in Malden District Court on charges of armed assault with the intent to murder and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.

It was not immediately clear if the arrest is also tied to another stabbing case.

Authorities are still investigating a second stabbing involving the death of 54-year-old Michael Starr on March 26th in the same area. They have asked for the public's help in identifying a suspect through a sketch that was released.
