Vatican Law: Priests, Nuns Must Report Sex Abuse, Cover-Up

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A major change in policy coming from Pope Francis With how catholic priests and nuns around the world.

Report sexual abuse and cover ups by their superiors

The new church law requires those priests and nuns to report sexual abuse and the key part of this is it provides whistle-blower protections for anyone making a report of abuse and it also requires all dioceses around the world to have a system in place to receive those reports confidentially.

This is the latest effort to stomp out the global problem of sexual abuse within the catholic church and the cover up scandals which have been circulating for decades within catholic communities.
