Man In Custody After Dorchester Murder

BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man wanted in connection to a Dorchester murder is under arrest after an early morning raid at a Brockton hotel Wednesday.

Shakeen McNeill, 28, of Brockton, is facing charges in the shooting death of a man on Millet Street in Dorchester Tuesday night. An arraignment hearing for McNeill was held at Dorchester District Court Wednesday morning.

Boston Police were called around 8:42 p.m. in the area of 95 Millet Street for a person shot.

Once they got there officers found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was brought to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The victim’s name has not been released.

A joint operation by Boston and Brockton Police led to the overnight raid at the Super 8 hotel on Westgate Drive and McNeill’s eventual arrest.

A BMW SUV was also towed from the Motel parking lot.

Information on McNeill ties to the shooting has not been released. He’s expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court Wednesday.
