Is arming teachers the answer to violence in schools? Texas is contemplating joining the twenty states which allow teachers and staff to carry guns on school property. Ninety-eight percent of mass public shootings in the United States since 1950 and all of them in Europe during the past two decades have occurred in "gun free zones." Is it time to arm teachers in Massachusetts?

The Supreme Court gives a thumbs up to transgender students using the bathrooms of their choice. The highest court in the country has declined to hear Doe v. Boyertown Area School District, which means the lower court unanimous ruling stands that a Pennsylvania school district can continue allowing transgender students to use bathrooms that align with their gender identity.
