Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for July 26, 2019

Is Now Really the Time For Governor Bakers $18B Transportation Bill? Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is proposing an $18 billion investment in transportation infrastructure on the same day a Providence-bound MBTA commuter rail train caught fire and had to be evacuated causing cascading delays along the southbound line. Should we be giving the T more money?

The Feds Go Back To Death Row... U.S. Attorney General William Barr is announcing the government will resume executions which have been on hiatus since 2003, starting with five men convicted of killing children. All five are being held at a high-security federal prison in Terre Haute, Ind., where their executions are set for December and January. More will be scheduled later according to the Justice Department. There are 62 people in all who are currently facing death sentences in the federal prison system. Do you support the executions.

Mueller Hangover. Before the Mueller hearings the media hype was all about high stakes and the likelihood of public outrage being ignited by what was hoped to be new information about the alleged misdeeds of the President. Instead public support for impeachment seems to have waned in the wake of Mr. Muellers lackluster testimony and his refusal to add anything to the already published report. Is it time to move on from calls for impeachment?
