ATLANTA (WBZ NewsRadio) — Rising Boston University junior Erin Edwards, 20, died of an apparent gunshot wound in her Atlanta, Georgia home.

Edwards was found dead with her brother, Christopher, 24, and their mother, Marsha Edwards.

The mother’s gunshot wound appeared to be self-inflicted. It is believed the incident was a murder-suicide.

Police found the bodies after a wellness check was requested by Marsha Edwards’ ex-husband.

Edwards was interested in journalism, and spent this summer in New York City interning at WNBC. She was set to begin her third year at BU in the fall of 2019.

While at BU, Edwards was heavily involved on campus—she was editor-in-chief of Charcoal, a reporter for the Daily Free Press, a DJ on WTBU, and a member of BUTV10.
