29 MBTA Bus Routes Set To Change Sunday

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – Beginning this Sunday, September 1st, some MBTA riders will need to take a different bus or head to a new stop as a number of bus routes are set to change.

These 29 route changes mark the the first from what has been dubbed the "Better Bus Project."

CT1

Route CT1 will be cancelled. Most CT1 stops are served by the Route 1 bus.

Route 4 will bypass stops on Northern Ave. Two new stops will open nearby, at Seaport Blvd and Sleeper St.

Route 5 will be cancelled. Route 5 riders can take the Route 10 and Route 16 from their current stop or from stops nearby.

We're adding weekday and Saturday service on Route 16 to JFK/UMass and McCormack Housing.

Route 34E will bypass stops at Upland Woods and Xaverian Brothers High School.

Route 59 will travel on Elliot St only during peak travel times in the peak direction. At other times, buses will serve only the Needham St part of the route.

Route 89 will run between Davis and Clarendon Hill only on weekdays before 9 AM, and from 1 PM – 7 PM.

Route 90 will no longer make stops beyond Assembly Row to Wellington Station.

Route 95 will have new stops on High St and Medford St, between Arlington Center and Medford.

Starting September 1, 2019, Route 106 will no longer provide service to Linwood Ave or Franklin Square. Inbound service will run via Forest St and Sylvan St on weekdays until 6 PM and on weekends until 9 PM.

Route 111 will begin and end at Washington Ave @ Park Ave. Route 110 service will still serve all stops on Park Ave.

Route 120 will no longer stop at Liberty Plaza in East Boston, and it will begin and end at Jeffries Point on Maverick St, instead of at Maverick Station.

Weekday Route 411 service between Kennedy Drive and Jack Satter house will operate from 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

Route 424 will begin and end at Wonderland, and will no longer provide service to Haymarket. All VFW Parkway service will shift to Revere St.

Route 428 will begin and end at Main St @ Lynn Fells Parkway, and will no longer run north of Lynn Fells Parkway.

Route 435 will no longer make stops in Pine Hill, instead traveling on Euclid Ave, Chestnut St, and Boston St.

Routes 448 and 449 will be cancelled, and will be replaced by additional service on Routes 441 and 442.

Route 459 will be cancelled, and will be replaced by additional Route 455 service. In Revere, service will shift from VFW Parkway to Revere St.

501, 502, 503, and 504

Routes 502 and 504 will no longer stop in Newton Corner on outbound trips during PM peak service. Routes 501 and 503 will stop at Newton Corner.
