Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for September 5, 2019

Larry Calderone of the BPPA Joins Us.Larry Calderone of the Boston Patrolmen's Association is in studio with Dan to talk about the attempts by the Suffolk County District Attorney Rachel Rollins to let the counter-protesters arrested at the Straight Pride event last Saturday walk with no or little consequences.

Judge vs. District Attorney. District Attorney Rachael Rollins is appealing the refusal of a Boston Municipal judge to dismiss charges against a group of anti-Straight Pride Parade protesters. Judge Richard Sinnott this week refused requests from prosecutors to let the defendants go free. A day later he held a defense attorney who kept interrupting him in contempt, had her handcuffed and put in a cell for hours. Whose side are you on?

The White House Kills the Daily Briefing. The Trump Administration has not held a daily White House briefing in over six months. Critics say this is an erosion of transparency and democracy caused by the President's indictment of what he callsthe “fake news” media’s incivility. President Trump says "the reason Sarah Sanders does not go to the 'podium' much anymore is that the press covers her so rudely & inaccurately, in particular certain members of the press.”Do you agree with the President? Should the briefings be reinstated?
