Last night (October 14), the "Gravity" star had a moment of weakness and revelation when he encouraged his Instagram followers to make the most of good memories — especially when in the presence of such a thirst-trap like Styles. "This is a photo with @harrystyles in it, and I almost didn’t post it. Like many of you, I keep a close eye on my IG thirst levels," he jokingly captioned a black-and-white pic of the two performers hanging out.
"Lately I’ve been noticing that in my attempt to stay socially hydrated, I’m not even asking for photos anymore, let alone sharing them. And I’m here to tell you that’s even less cool than posting that you’re friends with international superstar @harrystyles," he added. "So take photos. Make memories with the people in your life. You just don’t have to go posting them that night making a big thing out it."
These crooners have been bromancing for years, FYI. "Reunited with John Mayer...Oh how i've missed you," the "Kiwi" musician once tweeted in 2011. In 2017, the "My Stupid Mouth" artist would praise his friend's self-titled debut album, tweeting: "@Harry_Styles could have made any style record under the sun. And he chose to make honest, beautiful songcraft."
As far as Mayer's "thirst" for Styles, we can't blame him. Last week, the One Direction alum broke the internet with the surprise-release of his new single "Lights Up" along with a sexy music video, which features a shirtless Styles dancing among a group of nearly-naked partygoers, men and women alike.
