Hiding Behind Masks. The Boston City Council held a hearing yesterday on a proposed law that would ban the wearing of masks meant to conceal a person’s identity in public, The ban is in response to violence against police by masked protesters during the so-called Straight Pride Parade event earlier this year. The law is being proposed by Councilor Timothy McCarthy who says the ordinance would cover wearing a “mask, hood or other device” designed to “conceal a portion of one’s identity” on public or private property, but not apply to “traditional holiday costumes" nor a variety of professional, medical and religious exemptions. Is this a good idea?

Criminalizing The B-Word. The PC police in Massachusetts are out to criminalize the B-word — the term for a female dog also known as an insult to women. A hearing was held today on Beacon Hill to decide whether a “person who uses the word ‘bitch’ to accost, annoy, degrade or demean another shall be considered disorderly” which carries a $150 fine for a first offense and $200 or 6 months in prison for subsequent offenses. Is this effort to criminalize free speech unconstitutional?

Polar Bears Have Made A Comeback.Just a few years ago former Vice-President and climate change guru Al Gore said we should wave goodbye to the ice flow riding polar bears as the whole species was falling victim to global warming and would soon be extinct. Turns out the polar bear population is growing so much and so fast that they now pose a public safety hazard in Canada and according to the National Post will no longer be used as the mascots for climate socialists. Inuit communities in the northern regions say the polar bear may have exceeded the co-existence threshold.” What other climate change predictions do you think are off base?
