Jordan’s Furniture Welcomes Adopted Kids, Families To Enchanted Village

AVON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Jordan’s Furniture was a winter wonderland Sunday for adopted children and their families.

At the private event, in celebration of National Adoption Month, the children and families got to explore the store’s annual Enchanted Village.

Jordan’s Furniture President CEO Eliot Tatelman said this year’s “Adoptive Family Morning at Enchanted Village” included a Polar Express movie ride, an ice skating rink, and a special laser show.

“The place looks spectacular and everybody is having a great time,” Tatelman said. “It even snows inside.”

All of the children that attend were adopted in the past year. Tatelman said they were “mostly older children.”

“We open up the village for them. It’s a special morning, and we’ve been doing this every year and it’s the best,” Tatelman said.

For many years, Jordan’s Furniture has been partnering with organizations like the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) and the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The Adoptive Family Morning is just one of their events meant to help children in foster care find homes.

According to Tatelman, more than 500 children have been adopted through their initiative.

“Out of everything we do in furniture, in Jordan’s, and our people, it’s the thing I’m most proud of,” Tatelman said.
