BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The MBTA has been under scrutiny this week after the new Orange Line cars were pulled from service.
The cars were taken out of service on Tuesday after engineers reported hearing an “uncommon noise from the underside of the cars.”
“With safety as a top priority and out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to temporarily remove the new cars from service to investigate the issue, any potential impacts, and identify the necessary correction action,” an MBTA spokesperson told WBZ NewsRadio.
This is the second time the new cars have been taken out of service since their debut back in August.
