Man Arrested Following Police Chase From South Shore To Cape Cod

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Mattapan man was arrested on Sunday following a police chase from Braintree to Yarmouth on Cape Cod.

Police say that the suspect, Jermaine Omoregie, was driving a minivan he was not authorized to use. It belonged to a relative of his from Rhode Island.

The chase when down Route 3A toward Hull to Route 228 where police put stop sticks, according to authorities.

The suspect managed to avoid the stop sticks, meant to deflate tires, by driving into oncoming traffic. He then allegedly hit another vehicle before going onto Route 3 South.

A state police helicopter followed the van as it drove over the Sagamore Bridge.

The suspect then hit stop sticks put down on Route 6 in Yarmouth, and crashed into a wall on Willow Street.

Omoregie, as well as a 17-year-old passenger, were then taken into custody.

Omoregie is now facing multiple charges, including using a motor vehicle without authority, failure to stop for police, and operating after license suspension or revocation.
