Police: Boy Recovered From Chicopee River Dies

CHICOPEE, Mass. (AP) — Police say a boy recovered from a Massachusetts river has died, while rescue personnel continue to search for another child he was with.

Authorities say the children, who had gone to play in the woods in Chicopee, were reported missing at about 1 p.m. Saturday when they did not return home.

One of the children was pulled from the Chicopee River by firefighters and taken to the hospital. Police said Sunday that child had died.

The search for the second child resumed Sunday.

The fire department said the children may have fallen through the ice.
