Vermont Drivers Could Soon Be Able To Put Emojis On Their License Plates

(WBZ NewsRadio) — They might be for more than just texting. Lawmakers in Vermont are considering a bill that would allow emojis to be placed on license plates.

Drivers would be able to pick one of six emojis for their license plates if the bill passes. This emoji would be in addition to their assigned license plate number.

A state in Australia has passed a similar measure where drivers can put either the "laugh out loud," "wink," "sunglasses," "heart eyes," or "smile" emojis on their license plates.

It's currently unclear which emojis would be allowed in the proposal for Vermont.
