CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Downed power poles knocked out electricity for nearly 140 customers overnight in Cambridge.

At least two parked cars were damaged by the poles.

Generators restored power to customers Saturday afternoon, and Eversource remained on the scene until power was permanently restores, according to Cambridge Police.

It's unclear what caused the incident. Eversource said it has evidence that a car or truck is responsible for damaging and knocking down the four power poles late Friday night, and that that vehicle left the scene.

Cambridge Police, however, said the cause is unknown and under investigation.

"It looked like something out of a movie," resident John Connelly said.
