Water Main Break Causes School Cancellations In Manchester, NH

MANCHESTER, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A water main break in Manchester, N.H. caused some school cancellations and road closures in the city.

The water main break happened on Mammoth Road at Norcross Street.

School is cancelled at Jewett Street Elementary School, Manchester Memorial High School, and Hallsville Elementary School, according to Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig.

Crews are working to repair the break on Mammoth Road and the surrounding area, including Johnson Street and Knowlton Street.

The water main break created a large hole in the middle of road, causing water and debris to run "downhill," according to police.

"Many are reporting low pressure in surrounding neighborhoods, please bear with us as we work to repair the pipe and get your water pressure restored," Manchester Water Works said in a Facebook post.
