The War of the Republicans. There is a battle going on for the soul of the Massachusetts GOP and control of its operation, fundraising and leadership. It began two years after the first election of Massachusetts Republican Governor Charlie Baker who began to try and replace conservative state party committee members with those who were leaning more to the liberal side. The purpose of this switch was to give the Governor more control over which Republican candidates would get elected, supported and funded. A pivotal point in this fight will be reached next Tuesday in the election of 80 state committee representatives. Has the Governor helped or hurt the Republican Party in Massachusetts?

The Cost of Transportation in the Bay State. Beacon Hill is now considering a transportation legislative package containing gas tax hikes, increased ride hailing fees, a rise in the corporate minimum tax of up to $150,000 and an elimination of a rental car sales tax exemption. This all amounts to a total of $612 million to be paid by you, the taxpayer. Does this sound like a plan to you?
