One Man Dead After Double Shooting In Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Essex District Attorney's Office has announced an investigation into an apparent homicide in Lawrence.

In a news conference on Sunday morning, the DA's office said police had responded to reports of shots fired at 90 Market Street in Lawrence just after 3 a.m. Sunday.

Responding officers found a 23-year-old man dead, and a 19-year-old woman alive, but suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

The woman has been taken to a Boston area hospital with serious injuries. The victim's identities have not yet been released, and so far there have been no arrests.

According to the DA's office, the Lawrence shooting death happened about 12 hours after they had launched an investigation into an unrelated homicide in Amesbury, where a couple were stabbed inside a home, and one woman died.
