A Deal Is Reached! Congress reached a deal last night after midnight on a massive stimulus package to rescue the economy from the coronavirus assault. The $2 trillion deal is set for swift passage through both the House and Senate chambers. The agreement was the result of five days of intensive negotiations that periodically descended into partisan warfare while the nation’s economy reeled from the COVID-19 pandemic; closing business, schools and causing mass layoffs and overflowing hospitals.
